Artist's Description
Monument Valley in Arizona is along Route 42 in Navajo Tribal Park on the Utah/Arizona border. It consists of sandstone pinnacles that are up to 1,000 feet high, framed by scenic clouds casting shadows that roam the desert floor, and miles of mesas and buttes.
I recall approaching Monument Valley, seeing the mittens, and was awed by its impressive size, and amazing hues of red sandstone. It's quite a sight to behold. This image was taken on my three week adventure in Arizona and Utah in 2004.
